We are applying our breadth of knowledge to the area of Autonomy and Autonomous Systems. For example, our team participated in the MOD Grand Challenge where The Thales Team created a surveillance system comprising of rotary unmanned air vehicles and an unmanned ground vehicle. The aim of the system was to detect threats facing front line troops such as snipers and explosive devices. The vehicles acted autonomously with sense and avoid sensors and also carried a surveillance sensor payload. The vehicles were coordinated by a central mission system. The Thales Team won the trophy for Best Use of National Talent.
